BDL Adds Store Locator Feature to Website

To assist growers and gardeners in locating a Black Dog LED retailer near them, we recently added a store locator feature to our website. This will let shoppers find a nearby retailer among our rapidly expanding network of dealers.
Black Dog LED more than doubled our retailer base in the past year to nearly 200 outlets and we expect to add as many as 300 more in 2015. "Black Dog LED is committed to working with our retail partners such as local hydro shops. These shops provide an amazing and important resource for indoor gardeners, from beginner to advanced," Wholesale Accounts Manager Patrick Weeks says.
The rapid growth of retailers is propelled by the increasing number of states that allow some form of legalized growing of marijuana for either medical or recreational use. This ranges from Colorado and Washington, where growth, sale, and use of marijuana are fully legal to 24 other states where its use is restricted or has been decriminalized. Another three states plus D.C. and Guam have ballot measures this election that range from full legalization in Oregon, Alaska, and the District of Colombia to medical use in Florida and Guam.
Weeks sees the greatest growth for Black Dog LED lighting and growing equipment coming from independent hydroponics retailers who comprise over 90% of BDL customers, mostly in states where laws permit legal growing of marijuana. "We are focusing on growth areas in states with either new cannabis-related legislation being implemented or where existing legislation is undergoing changes," he says. "The store locator helps customers who are looking to buy our lights locally, and with our site traffic we are already seeing retailers benefit from this new tool."
